Applications
Microsilica powder is also called silicon ash or condensed silica fume or silica fume. It is the by-product of the process of ferrosilicon or silicon metal, which is made up of the high purity quartz, coke and scrap iron in the furnace. The main components of the silica powder is SiO2.The color of the silica fume is gray.
Microsilica in refractory is a highly effective pozzolanic material, the functions of adding microsilica are as follow:
